A Lawyer Focused on How Government Works When It Matters Most

I’m a lawyer based in Norfolk, VA, focused on how laws and government work in real-world conditions—especially when systems are under strain and people fall through the cracks.

I graduated from Dartmouth College and Columbia Law School. My education, professional experience, and personal life have shaped how I think about service, government power, accountability, and the real consequences of public decisions.

As part of my legal training, I worked pro bono helping veterans and their families navigate VA benefits essential to economic security. I then practiced law at leading international firms, working inside complex regulatory and governance systems tied to the U.S. financial system. Most recently, I served as Assistant General Counsel for a Fortune 500 company headquartered in Newport News, advising on governance and compliance.

Across these roles, one lesson has stayed with me: when systems are under strain, judgment and restraint matter as much as intent.

I’ve stayed grounded locally through community involvement, including advisory board committee service with the YMCA in Newport News, supporting families, young people, and seniors at critical moments.

Like many in this region, I’ve personally navigated hospitals, courts, administrative agencies, and financial systems during periods of disruption—here in Hampton Roads. Those experiences rooted me here and shaped why I’m running.

I’m running for Congress because leadership today isn’t about noise. It’s about turning authority into responsibility—and crisis into care.
